Life is a beach

It is on days like today that I am so grateful that we live so close to the beach. We only live about 1 mile from the beach and the girls love it. Living in the northeast, we ache all year for the nice days prior to summer vacation. The beaches are empty...we get them all to ourselves! We collected shells, dug in the sand, watched the water spill over the jetty's and all the birds swarm around a fishing boat in the ocean! Must have been some good fishing! I relish days like today. The joy in their faces when the sand goes between their tiny toes and the cold water washes over their feet is priceless. Soon the beaches will be crowed again. We will enjoy our lazy days of summer with a bunch of strangers who if we are lucky, might turn into new friends!!!
