Hatchlings-Max and Ruby

Check out our newest additions to our turtle family! We have a big turtle pen in our backyard and after many years, we finally got babies! We are guessing that they are about a month old. They no longer have their yolk sacs so we are estimating that they were born late August early September. We found a bunch of eggs in the water and after speaking with our vet, he informed us that it was probably just an immature female who did not know what she was doing and the eggs were probably not fertile because box turtles do not lay their eggs in the water. We are not sure if these hatchlings were part of that egg laying, but either way, we have little babies. The next few weeks will be touch and go for these little guys. We will have to keep a close eye on them and nurture them as much as possible. The girls are all thrilled but are sad because they can't hold or touch the tank.

That is totally cool! I just let Clay have a snake for his brithday! I have lost my mind. I need to post photos of it.
Love their names. That is one of AC's favorite shows.
